Harrisburg Restaurant Reviews: Tiger's Den

Tiger’s Den is another local favorite right here in Harrisburg. The name, for one, is great – it doesn’t get more “hometown” feeling than representing the local mascot in the restaurant’s label. The location is equally perfect. It’s easy to find right on a main intersection in town – the corner of Willow Street and Cliff Avenue.

Tiger’s Den is connected to the convenience store on the corner, as well. It doesn’t get more opportune than that! Stop by and grab dinner or take it to go at the same time you’re fueling up your car!

Although it’s conveniently located, it could be easy to believe that because the restaurant is attached to a gas station store, it’s bustling and loud inside. Not so. In fact, quite the opposite is true.

The first impression one gets when walking in the front door is that of a clean and quiet atmosphere. It’s cool and refreshing inside. It’s a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy conversation with one another. And the service was top-notch. The wait staff was extremely friendly and caring – checking up on us with the warm hospitality only a great host can offer.

The next thing to weigh in on, of course, is the food. You will definitely not be disappointed by the menu at Tiger’s Den. They have a great selection of appetizers, wings, pizza, sandwiches … the list goes on. We opted for chislic and fries, as well as an extra side of their famous cowboy beans. We would highly recommend everything we tasted. The chislic was the perfect mixture of juicy and cooked-through –  not overdone, but also not pink in the center. Honestly, we’re not sure we’ve ever had juicier chislic. It was phenomenal. And the cowboy beans were amazing. These are not your typical, run-of-the-mill baked beans. Beef was mixed into the beans, along with some pretty great seasonings.

We only wish we’d had the opportunity to try more of the food options and can’t wait to go back and try other menu selections. Be sure to head to the Tiger’s Den next time you need a good food fix!
