Not all of our day trips have to feature South Dakota locations, right?! For this Day Trip feature, we chose a favorite in one of our neighboring communities - Okoboji, Iowa!
There are so many fun things to do in Okoboji, especially during the summer season, of course. There are several connecting lakes and a few small connected towns, as well.
Arnold’s Park Amusement Park
Arnold’s Park has been around for 125 years now, and is located in an ideal spot right on the water. It is a great spot for the whole family to spend a fun day enjoying 20 amusements rides plus water wars, games of chance, and, of course, food and drinks!
Boji Bay Funhouse & Event Center
Boji Bay features concert stage, patio, pools, clubhouse, and 8 venues. Check out concerts and events they have going on all year long!
Want to buy or rent a boat and spend the day on the water? Parks Marina is a great destination for all your boat needs! Rentals and public or private cruises are available through Okoboji Boat Works, also.
Okoboji Classic Cars
Want to check out “the ultimate man cave”? This is your place! Tour the showroom of classic cars or check out some of the rare classics that are for sale!
Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf
Looking for something else to do with the kids, besides just the amusement park? Go mini golfing in the town of Arnold’s Park at Pirate’s Cove!
Fun places to go out for dinner or drinks with friends in the area include Barefoot Bar, Captain’s Getaway, and The Gardens, just to name a few!
Head out to Okoboji while there is still some time left this summer to truly explore all they have to offer! Stay at a hotel or resort or go camping at one of several local campgrounds! Additionally, the area offers lots of museums, an art center, summer theater, local shops, and so much more!
