October 2019 Business Spotlight - Emer-GenZ Eats & Treats is owned and operated by Pam Harris. Pam started the business in March of 2018, as a way of taking her love for cooking and baking from a hobby to a part-time business, to keep her busy in retirement. Emer-GenZ offers “take and bake” family-style entrees, that are made from scratch, and are ready to bake or microwave. The meals are on a stop and grab basis or may be pre-ordered. Their menu items are taken from family and friend favorites over the years. Menus rotate weekly and are posted on their Facebook page on Sunday evenings. “I love hearing stories of how much time my meals save busy families, and that they can use the time saved to actually sit down and enjoy a meal together. Giving customers a delicious, nutritious, cost-conscious, and time-saving option for meals is my goal,” says Pam. Pam was born and raised in the Harrisburg area and has lived here her entire life, so she’s seen it grow from a small farming community to a much larger suburban area. Her business has allowed her to not only see old friends, but also to meet new people in the area. “It’s been rewarding to be a part of the business growth in Harrisburg and to be able to serve my community in another way,” she adds. Pam’s business has grown beyond her wildest dreams. Due to that growth, she has been able to partner with a group of other women-owned business partners to open their own storefront, named the 518 Marketplace (located at 518 N Cliff Ave, Harrisburg). “I owe this to my loyal customers in Harrisburg and the surrounding areas who have supported me by shopping local.” Emer-GenZ Eats & Treats’ hours are Tuesday-Friday from 8am-8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am-3pm. Prices range from $20.99-$22.99. You can find them on Facebook!
