April 2018 Resident Spotlight

The April Resident Spotlight for My Home My Harrisburg is the Koopal family! The family consists of Mandy, Beau and their 3 daughters Devyn, Brienna and Blaire. They also have 3 dogs, 3 horses, some chickens, a house cat and a few barn cats!

The Koopal’s first moved to Harrisburg in May of 2009. They started out with a split level home on Prairie Circle and finished the basement as they needed a bigger home because their family was growing. They then built a house south of the Harrisburg high school, finished the basement to build equity and stumbled upon their dream property, also outside of Harrisburg. The Koopal family has been on their acreage for a couple of years. Mandy says, “I absolutely love the small town feel, and we are kind of drawn to Harrisburg. We still come to town for Halloween and trick or treat on our old street because it is a very awesome neighborhood! I like the fact that even though Harrisburg is growing, it still has that small town feel to it! The people at the restaurants and stores start to recognize you, just like when we were back home in our small towns.”

Mandy works as a Radiologic Technologist, and Beau is a licensed Land Surveyor and owns a portion of an Engineering company in Sioux Falls, called Infrastructure Design Group. They also have offices in Watertown and Mitchell.

The family loves being outdoors. They enjoy time on the lakes and rivers. The Koopal girls absolutely love horseback riding and Beau has started to take an interest in it. Mandy says, “It is very peaceful!”
